⏱️AutoPi Connectivity Issue

Some of the devices shipped over the last few weeks have experienced connectivity issues. We've identified that this is unique to areas where AT&T has a stronger signal than other carriers. You may or may not notice this issue. Hundreds of devices came online in the last few weeks, all on other networks.

The good news is, that this can be fixed with software, and all you need to do is bring your device online to download the patch. If your device has already successfully connected, it will download a patch the next time it comes online. You can choose to connect with WiFi or not.

The easiest way to do this is to connect your device to your home WiFi. Proceed to the instructions below to connect.

What are we doing to improve this in the future?

  • Tuning & Testing. It is difficult to test for all conditions with a small team, and we appreciate your understanding. We'll be adding even more testing to our regimen and enlisting more third parties for testing (like our modem manufacturer).

  • Antenna. Soon we will be selling an antenna you can connect that will very much improve the connectivity experience across the board.

  • Easy WiFi Connectivity. The device is capable of connecting (and pairing) over WiFi. We will be building this option into the app to make it a more seamless user experience for updates at home.
